About Me

I spent more than twenty years as an executive editor in Big5 publishing, editing commercial fiction at HarperCollins Publishers, Penguin Random House, and Macmillan, including running HarperVoyager US for twelve years. 

Some of the many bestselling and award-winning authors I have worked with include Charlaine Harris, Kim Harrison, Susan Dennard, Richard Kadrey, Zen Cho, S. L. Huang, Shelley Parker-Chan,  Rita Woods, Katie McGarry, Eric van Lustbader, Mary Stewart, Brom, and Genevieve Cogman.

 Now I work directly with  clients, helping authors shape manuscripts and stories at all levels, from New York Times bestselling authors and publishing  houses to agencies to independent authors and new writers. Freelance  author clients include  #1 NYT bestselling author Elizabeth Wein, Pirateaba (author of the LitRPG phenomenon The Wandering Inn), and many more.

I specialize in commercial/genre fiction —science fiction, fantasy, LitRPG, romantasy, thrillers, young adult, historicals—and select narrative nonfiction, editing and publishing consulting at all levels, and IP and content creation for select packagers and creators. I'm also proud to pay it forward with We Need Diverse Books, The Word for Diversity, Literary Agents of Change, and other worthy causes.

I love commercial genre fiction (adult & young adult)—the smart, well-written beach read is my jam. Spaceships, explosions, smooching... or smooching on exploding spaceships !—I love it all.  

I love travel, diving (AKA I freelance for plane tickets & dives), art & architecture, martial arts (3 black belts in Japanese arts, now getting my ass kicked in eskrima/arnis/kali), nature/animals, and photography. I watch too many Asian dramas and am a proud Army Member (BTS!). She/her.
